We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team in Portland, OR. This full-time position involves performing blood draws, handling specimens, and ensuring accurate data documentation while adhering to strict safety guidelines. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in our laboratory operations, contributing to the health and well-being of our patients. This position offers the opportunity for permanent employment following a successful three-month period and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Compensation: Dependent on Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct blood draws and other specimen collections with precision and ethical understanding.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and properly store specimens following exact protocol and procedures.
- Verify patient information and testing requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Package and prepare specimens for transportation, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for data entry and documentation, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Follow all OSHA and DEP regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide clear and courteous explanations of the collection process to patients.
- Attend training sessions and stay current with the latest procedural protocols.
- Operate within a team-based structure, offering support and receiving it as needed.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of Oregon.
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proven proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying job locations within a 25-mile radius.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in phlebotomy or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a float position or similar roles requiring travel between locations.
