Neonatology Position – South GA – Near Savannah
We are seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join our hospital-employed setting in South Georgia, near Savannah. This position will be based in a Level 2 Neonatal Unit with 21 nursery beds, including 5 level II beds. The hospital had 1,607 deliveries last year and is on track to maintain that volume, with a total c-section rate of 42%.
The incoming Neonatologist will be part of a team of 7 Pediatricians who currently rotate 24-hour call to attend c-sections. These Pediatricians are supportive of the new Neonatologist, as they seek coverage to allow them to focus on their clinic practices.
The hospital envisions a model similar to a hospitalist (7 on / 7 off 24-hour call schedule). The Neonatologist will be expected to attend all deliveries.
This role is crucial for the hospital's growth plan for Women's Services, particularly for high-risk deliveries requiring Pediatrician or Neonatology attendance.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing Level II nursery coverage
- Performing newborn intubations
- Managing ventilators
