Overview:
Position reports to the Cost Accounting Manager and assists with month-end close process, account reconciliations, global standard costing, and with projects as needed. The position also provides inventory support to the EGSI Sr. Manager, Supply Chain with large animal inventory related matters.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for global diet and bedding, small animal, and large animal business units as needed in accordance with the Corporate calendar.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly global inventory reports.
- Responsible for standard cost updates, bill of material cost verifications, and manufacturing variance analysis for two manufacturing sites, distribution centers, and global RMS production sites.
- Assist with the facilitation and planning of annual physical inventory processes as well as monitoring the processing of the weekly/monthly cycle count activity. Conduct investigation and analyses, on transactions recorded to ensure inventory is appropriately updated.
- Responsible for audit requests related to inventory observations, shipping and receiving cutoffs, and price testing for all inventory sites.
- Assist with special projects, reporting initiatives to drive change and decision-making, and requests from internal business partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Overall work experience 5 -7 years, minimum 2 - 5 year experience in a manufacturing or similar production environment.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft office products required and experience with J.D. Edwards or other large ERP systems a plus
- Life Science Industry experience a plus

This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
