THE STRATEGY & ANALYTICS (“S&A”) TEAM
The S&A team is responsible for:
- Shaping and executing Riverside’s strategy;
- Producing reporting and analytics for firm management, investors, and other stakeholders;
- Enhancing the value of Riverside’s portfolio companies through the management of several preferred vendor programs;
- Fostering greater coordination and operational efficiency across the firm.
These responsibilities require regular interactions with Riverside’s Co-CEOs, fund managers, deal teams, other support functions, and portfolio company leadership teams. And to be successful, the S&A team is expected to maintain accurate data and continuously improve how it is analyzed and shared with stakeholders.
THE ROLE
The S&A team is looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join our team at Riverside’s New York headquarters for a two-year role. The Analyst’s responsibilities will include:
- Leveraging our internal database to gather, maintain, and analyze portfolio monitoring and investment performance data for use in management and investor reporting as well as special projects.
- Playing a critical role in the S&A team’s efforts to modernize Riverside’s databases by working with our technology team to build out an Enterprise Data Warehouse. This involves defining the fields and calculations we need, testing, and building reports and analysis.
- Supporting the management of Riverside’s Preferred Vendor programs to help our portfolio companies save money and enhance service levels.
- Assisting in research of industry trends, investor interests and competitors to support strategic initiatives.
- Regularly preparing presentations and memos to report research and analysis.
- Coordinating & working with other areas of the firm throughout the organization on various efforts (Fund Administration, Information Technology, Origination, Fundraising & Investor Relations, Marketing & Communications, Administrative, etc.)
By the end of…
Your first month you will have:
- Helped a portfolio company CFO re-state historical financials proforma for an add-on acquisition
- Provided the marketing team with updated metrics that are included in all of Riverside’s press releases
- Helped the Fundraising & IR team respond to a diligence question from a potential investor
- Been introduced to Riverside’s preferred vendors and developed an understanding of our offering to portfolio companies
Your first quarter you will have:
- Lead the analysis of Riverside’s recent spend with a large vendor, and prepared a summary of findings including cost savings opportunities to be shared with key stakeholders
- Prepared a custom track record of performance to help a fund manager convey a particular message to investors
- Spent several hours troubleshooting system issues to improve the quality of S&A’s deliverables
- Created at least one new report template leveraging the new Enterprise Data Warehouse
Your first year you will have:
- Established a method for tracking all vendor/portfolio company relationships, and helped refine spend and savings tracking
- Prepared value creation reports for Riverside Operating Partners and portfolio company leadership to quantify savings generated from Riversides Preferred Vendor Programs
- Created many more report templates leveraging the new Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Produced several reports and analytics for the Co-CEOs. Examples may include a comparison of our historical returns by sector, interest rate sensitivity analysis and/or portfolio sales by country
- Updated forecasting models for multiple Riverside funds to help the respective fund managers and teams estimate returns

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of transferrable experience
- Strong Excel modeling skills, and desire to work with data
- Strong analytical skills: ability to interpret data and draw conclusions
- Track record of continuous improvement
- Ability to present research and analytics graphically to support insights
- Attitude of energy and urgency
- Self-starter; curious mind, efficient and productive worker
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with database management
- Familiarity with basic valuation tools (comparables, DCF models, etc.)
- Familiarity with the private equity industry

Location: New York Office - Hybrid (3 days min. in office)
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance
Required Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a corporate business environment
