Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.

Network Operations (NOC)
The Network Operations department helps us run a safe, reliable airline, and includes careers in aircraft routing and dispatching, crew scheduling, air traffic control and more.
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
The Manager will support the development and implementation of large scale, key initiatives targeted at improving performance for the ATC and Dispatch groups within the Network Operations Center. This position will be responsible for and represent Network Operations for all aspects of each initiative thru the envision, design, build and activation (EDBA) phases to include new tools, procedures or solutions.
Coordinate with various frontline operational organizations, Digital Technology, Project Management Office, and other internal organizations to collaboratively provide front-line users the best resources to efficiently achieve United’s performance goals. A self-starter will use knowledge of operational performance to build new insights, take them from concept to deployment. Identify and maintain core metrics and goals that support related Network Operations objectives and projects.
- Evaluates new technology and process in support of Network Operations proofs-of-concept or deployment while supporting the business case development, design, build and delivery.
- Defines key metrics, data collection plans and analysis requirements of all Operations projects and reports out to associated stakeholders across organizations.
- Works cross functionally to support customer impact projects, goals, and metrics.
- Determines actionable projects to facilitate efficiencies in operations execution.
- Communicates objectives and initiatives to divisional stakeholders, both at headquarters and in the field, for feedback and adoption.
- Communicates a consistent cadence of information to senior leadership highlighting operational performance.
- Defines standardization performance reports and develops key metrics that help guide employees to consistent operational practices.
NOTE: This position is based at the ASC – Arlington Service Center in Arlington Heights, IL and considered as a hybrid work-schedule with 3-days in-office with presence at our CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL on a as needed basis. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

What’s Needed to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
- 4-8 years of experience in management or operations.
- Project management experience framework.
- Strategic planning and decision making.
- Ability to work with cross functional groups – strong relationship building skills.
- Solid understanding of airport and network operations.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and at least one database management system.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task challenging priorities.
- Must be willing and able to travel at least 10-15% domestically.
- Must be willing and able to work at the ASC-Arlington Service Center in Arlington Heights, IL as a hybrid work schedule, 2-3 days in office with presence at our CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL on an as needed basis.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
What Will Help You Propel from the Pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree or related experience.
- Emphasis on Airline Management, Aviation, or Industrial Engineering.
- Airline, Process Engineering, Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis.
- Exposure to ATC coordination or Dispatch functions.
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with process/system mapping and analysis.
