GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides concept and product presentations, facility tours and 1:1 demonstrations during client visits that directly impact desired outcomes for each customer. Responsible for advancing the sales process with every customer visit to Herman Miller by clearly and positively demonstrating Herman Miller's brand identity and capabilities. Supports the various major industry and corporate events that involve customer activity and/or customer orientations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Act as troubleshooter in the overall program in addition to each field sales person during their scheduled trip, adjusting their agenda as appropriate, due to a change in their focus, weather delays, emergencies, etc.
- Conduct activities to support the trip process as needed-agenda printing, name tags, bag tags, distribution of agendas to appropriate personnel, trouble shooting for field sales persons, etc.
- Consult with field sales to conceptualize, develop, and execute selling agendas for end-users, dealers, architects and designers, and students visiting West Michigan Herman Miller facilities that will differentiate us from the competition and leave a lasting positive impression.
- Develop strong relationships with field sales organization, including management.
- Effectively utilize the highest level confidential information in Omni and other means to support customer visits as appropriate.
- Maintain a knowledge base of current products, services and workplace issues and be able to apply that knowledge in trip design.
- Maintain a professional appearance and presentation while conducting all hosting responsibilities.
- Make arrangements for presenters, tour guides and executives to meet with appropriate groups.
- Make judgment decisions on type of content to provide visitors that would best advance the selling process.
- Manage all logistical detail by contacting Marigold, FlexJet, catering services, ground transportation and other outside services.
- May travel as required to provide support for Customer Experience related activities.
- Provide presentations to client groups on an as needed basis in the areas of overall workplace concepts, facility tours, and our Living Office story.
- Recognize, understand and act on the cultural differences between the U.S. and International customers in the planning and execution of all International visits to Corporate Herman Miller facilities.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in guest services, sales, marketing, or public relations required.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communications and relationship building skills, ability to relate well with all levels and diverse types of employees, clients, and vendors in formal and informal settings.
- Well-developed planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to gracefully handle conflicting pressures, deadlines, and last minute changes.
- Possess refined sales presentation skills, capable of interpreting client's feedback and adjusting quickly and appropriately to their needs.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and schedule time with minimal management involvement.
- Project a positive, professional and confident image.
- Ability and willingness to travel to achieve business objectives.
