Job Summary
Perform radiologic studies to provide information for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Using proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable equipment.
- Performs X-ray, DEXA, Fluoroscopy, EKG, and CT exams.
- Positions patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures.
- Maintains computerized records, files, and/or reports.
- Participates in quality control and quality assurance studies.
- Assists the supervising radiologist and radiology manager with administrative functions.
- Performs other duties as required.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
- Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
- Incumbents must be able to work stand-by and call-back duty and respond to a call within 30 minutes.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
- Possession of a CPR certification required.
- One year of experience desirable.
- Ability to speak in English and Spanish highly desirable.
Working Environment - Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
- Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.
