Description
A busy thriving clinic is looking for a Full TimeAdvanced Practitioner - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physican Assistant (PA-C) to help run the primary care practice. Provider would work as a team with several Physicians, Advanced Practitioners and other medical professionals.
Workload is seeing patients 3.5 days a week with administrative time built in two half days day a week for a total 4.5-day work week. No call required. The clinic is a nonprofit mission clinic serving uninsured patients. Candidate must be comfortable working with underserved and diverse populations with compassion and cultural competency. Must have at least 5 years primary care experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
- Contributes to a physician’s efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
- Recommends options and courses of action for patient care.
- Implements physician directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering additional services as available to the patient or via clinic resources such as diagnostic tests, X-rays, laboratory studies and interpreting test results.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Performs general therapeutic procedures such administering injections and immunizations and managing wounds and infections.
- Communicates well with patients by providing clear information on medication adherence and communicates with Director on needs of patient base for growth of resources and services.
- Provides community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending standard HR compliance trainings, maintains professional licensing, and participates in clinic provided trainings or continuing education as needed or requested to support service mission.
- Works well in a team environment and enjoys making a difference in a high need environment.
Requirements
- Must have at least 5 years primary care experience.
- Nurse Practitioner or PA-C Licensure
- Must be comfortable working with underserved and diverse populations with compassion and cultural competency.
