Overview

Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy or related field required.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, and evaluates recreational therapy to meet the needs of Adult Psychiatric patients.
- Implements activity and recreational programs for patients.
- Administers activity assessments for patients. Provides leisure activities for patients free time/quiet time use.
- Documents patient participation, behaviors, and responses in programs.

Represents Psych Recreational therapy at unit and inter-departmental meetings as assigned.Participates in Quality improvement activities as requested by manager or director.Under direction of manager or director, performs certain other duties as assigned including audits, report express, and patient billing as needed.Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with department and hospital policies and procedures.Maintains compliance with the Illinois Mental Health Code.Maintains ongoing training and education in related field, presents supporting documentation yearly with performance appraisal.Maintains knowledge of/and follow through in achieving departmental goals.
