The Ultrasound Tech performs ultrasound procedures which are complex and elaborate to assist the physician in the diagnosis of injury and/or disease.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Graduate of approved school and/or certification, RDMS.
- CPR certification required.
- Must be RVT certified if working in Vascular prior to hire.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Ultrasound.

- Prepares and explains exams to patients.
- Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area.
- Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas in order to perform assigned duties.
- Assists physician during specialty exam.
- Demonstrates appropriate patient/family/self-safety practices.
- Upon completion of exam, all paperwork is finished that deals with patient.
- Participates in the education/oversight of orientees, ancillary staff, and students in collaboration with the preceptor, manager, and/or designated education coordinator.
- Lead Ultrasound Tech will prepare staff schedules.
- Lead Ultrasound Tech will maintain accreditation through Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) or American College of Radiology (ACR).
- Lead Ultrasound Tech will be the Technical Director with the IAC if applicable.
- Lead Ultrasound Tech will maintain all duties that pertain to quality improvement.
- Lead Ultrasound Tech will maintain any day to day operations with the department.

- Basic computer knowledge in order to document effectively.
- Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment for patient care.
