Job Summary:
The Vanderbilt Medical Laboratories and Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology are seeking a program manager to coordinate the clinical trial and clinical research activities within VML. VML supports VUMC's inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, regional hospitals and extramural practices for clinical laboratory and pathology testing. A key mission of VML and PMI is to support clinical and translational research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordination of specimen acquisition with existing VUMC tissue and specimen banks
- Providing de-identified, characterized clinical specimens or microorganisms for VUMC researchers for special projects
- Coordination between VML and VUMC researchers for clinical trial laboratory testing
- Support VML and PMI faculty with clinical trial coordination for new diagnostic tests
In addition, the manager, working with the Vice Chair of Clinical Research and Division Chair of Laboratory Medicine, will develop and execute a strategy to develop an integrated research service across the spectrum of in vitro diagnostics.
