Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our bariatric surgery team. In this role, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of surgeons, dietitians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients throughout their weight loss journey.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments for bariatric surgery candidates
- Provide comprehensive education and counseling to patients regarding surgical options, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative care
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients
- Perform post-operative follow-up visits and monitor patients' progress
- Assist in the management of complications and provide support to patients as needed
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
- Current Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner license in New York State
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in bariatric surgery or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
