The Public Health Nursing Supervisor supervises Public Health Nurses within a bureau of the Department of Health. Duties include: planning, organizing, and directing work activities of subordinate staff; assisting with the development and oversight of planning within the department and with community partners; completing administrative reports, and giving presentations on public health topics to the community and the media. Incumbents must be available to respond at night and on weekends as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise staff of the Respiratory Health and HIV/STI screening clinics.
- Ensure clinical standards are maintained and satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Partner and network with community organizations that provide services for City of St. Louis residents.
- Facilitate health educational training for clinical staff and the general public.
- Manage services and resources for programs.
- Assist with documentation and data collection.
- Participate in community outreach and events.
- Maintain annual certifications and waivers.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing; plus two years as a nursing supervisor in an educational, public, or community setting; OR, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Licenses: Must possess a valid professional nursing license issued by the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a state having reciprocity with the state of Missouri.
