Title: Analytics and AI Governance Lead

Purpose:
Drives thought leadership and delivery of modern/robust data governance practice, ensuring maturity progression and a balance of both defensive and offensive strategies for governance. Builds policies, processes, and organizational structures to govern data and to increase data literacy throughout the enterprise. Partners with the right stakeholders to set the standards for best practice in content delivery, solution quality, and completeness. Ensures overall program design and implementation meets the organization’s current and future Information and Analytics strategic road map.
As the Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Ethics Lead you will play a crucial leadership role in the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight and improvement of operational AI (both Foundational and Generative) and Data Ethics requirements as part of the overarching Data & Analytics Governance Framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the design and implementation of efficient operational analytics, AI, and ethics practices, strategies, and frameworks, including operating models, accountability arrangements, policies, procedures, and key risk and control arrangements. You will lead the design and implementation of the operational Analytics, AI, and Ethics strategies collaborating with various stakeholders to establish policies, standards, and procedures, and oversee implementation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and business rules.
- Leads Data or Analytic Governance practice, including guidance, facilitation, and organizational adoption.
- Coordinates activities and processes of Data Council or Steward Community assuring model is operating according to company policy.
- Provides business ownership and technical administration of enterprise Data Governance or analytic tools and inventories.
- Provides oversight and management of the Metadata repository. Partners with technology teams to ensure Data lineage is captured and made available to the organization.
- Assures execution of governance processes at the enterprise level including AI, Analytics, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management, and Metadata Management.
- Collaborates with AI Steering, Centers of Excellence, Data Council, Business Data Stewards, Data security, and IT leadership teams to establish data and analytic policies and standards for upholding data and analytic quality and data security.
- Assures standards for information usage, access, and external exposure in concert with enterprise information security.
- Coordinates the development of Data and Analytic Governance Playbook/Processes in concert with Council/Stewards.
- Trains data stewards and AIAPs (Accountable AI Persons) and ensures that effective stewardship processes exist.
- Oversee enterprise implementation of common business language and associated metadata management.
- Work with stewards to maintain metadata definitions and quality thresholds.
- Partner with cross-functional Business Data stewards to establish Data Quality thresholds for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and overall data maturity.
- Provides oversight and governance activities of AI and Analytical Assets and Concepts.
- Provides organizational education and awareness of governance model, activities, progress, and methods.
Required Technical Skills:
- Command of AI and/or data governance and data management best practices, tools, and disciplines.
- Experience applying operational data governance, AI, and Ethics practices in the business, translation of regulatory and legal concepts into operational BAU processes.
- Experience working with Data Governance tools: Informatica Axon, EDC, EDP, IDQ and/or AI governance tools such as RACE, Dataiku or Azure DevOps etc.
- Proficient in the following data skills/techniques - Business Process Modeling, Data Profiling, Metadata management, Data Lineage, Data Security/Privacy, Master Data Management.
- Advanced knowledge of Data Warehouse/ Business Intelligence, and Analytics project lifecycle (SDLC), tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of technical infrastructure including cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Data Mining, Data Lakes, as well as structured/unstructured data concepts.
- Knowledge of data science techniques, methodologies, and technology (analytics related).
- Ability to learn new software, data sources, and skills to improve data management and analytics delivery.
- Possesses data analysis skills through use of automated tools and mathematical analyses.
- Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and/or physical data modeling.
- Understands system/data security mechanisms required for internal/external presentation of client analytics via the Internet.
- Excellent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.
- Possesses strong capabilities with respect to data visualization, and usability.
Education, Certifications & Designations:
Required:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent work experience.
- Data Science operational experience.
Preferred:
- CIC, CPCU, or ARM.
- AI or Data Science Certifications.
- PMP.
