Job Description
The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. The Advanced Practice Nurse works under direct supervision of a physician following established guidelines as required and within established scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare to patients and families.
- Focus on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Engage in patient education and counseling.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
Experience: One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Knowledge: Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training preferred.
