Position Summary
Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to confident, well socialized dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets and promote the human-animal bond. You'll work alongside a team passionate about pet care that ensures our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research.
As a Veterinarian, you’ll play a crucial role in our daily veterinary clinic operations and comprehensive health programs for our beloved pets. You’ll have the opportunity to plan, organize, and perform vital veterinary procedures, ensuring the utmost health and wellbeing of our pets while contributing to groundbreaking nutrition research protocols.
- Oversee the comprehensive care of our pets including routine check-ups, surgeries, dental care, and emergency treatments.
- Closely collaborate with veterinarians and team to provide individual care for our pets.
- Develop treatment plans to address a variety of health issues, from common ailments to complex medical conditions.
- Ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act.
- Participate in nutritional research protocols, including conducting clinical trials and collecting data to support our research initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to veterinary staff and pet care personnel to promote best practices in animal care and ensure a high standard of clinic operations.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
- Valid veterinary license for the State of Missouri or the ability to obtain the license.
- 1+ year of professional clinical veterinary experience with feline and/or canine patients.
- 1+ years of experience conducting veterinary surgeries and/or dentistry.
Other
- USDA accreditation is preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary research environment is preferred.
The approximate pay range for this position is $119,000.00 to $150,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
