Responsible for applying advanced nursing knowledge and specialized expertise and experience in the promotion of quality nursing care.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Advocates for nursing personnel, patients, and family members.
2. Supports policy and services which advocates for patients' rights and optimal environments of healthcare.
3. Collaborates with staff to identify interventions within the plan of care which reflects current scientific knowledge, practice, and promote continuity of care.
4. Performs evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions for resolution or recommendations to improve quality of care and nursing practice.
5. Participates in performance improvement activities as related to area of specialization and/or unit. Investigates, evaluates, and recommends supplies and capital equipment.
6. Supports preparation for Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency visits. Supports implementation of policies, guidelines, and recommendations of the regulatory bodies.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
