We are recruiting an Integrated Specialty Pharmacy Navigator to join our team of health care professionals. The Integrated Specialty Pharmacy Navigator will partner with members of medical clinic care teams to provide pharmacy-focused administrative support and assistance coordination for patients initiating and continuing treatment with a specialty medication. These functions will be performed at the direction of a prescribing provider, as well as under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role will be responsible for completing care activities centered around expediting patient access to medication, ensuring treatment affordability, and therapy adherence. Through collaboration with other members of the medical clinic, the Integrated Specialty Pharmacy Navigator will help to ensure seamless delivery of patient care services.
Job type: Full-time
Pay range: $24.11-$30.14 hourly, depending on experience.

Position specifications:
- Education and experience
- Required:
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Washington and/or Oregon upon hire.
- Active Pharmacy Technician licensure in both Oregon and Washington required within 3 months of hire.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of pharmacy benefit investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance connection.
- Prior experience working with physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals.
- Physical and mental functions and activities
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to express oneself, detect, perceive, observe, and assess information exchanged in a variety of communication methods.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer applications and ability to learn new software platforms to perform accurate work.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Working conditions
- Work is performed in a medical office environment, with extensive keyboard and telephone work in a stationary position.
- Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of the standard work week.
- Contact with others:
- Internally communicates with Ardon employees across multiple departments.
- Externally communicates with insurance plans, manufacturers, financial charities, and foundations.
Essential functions and activities:
- Directly communicates with insurance companies to investigate patients’ medication benefit coverage and facilitate access to medication treatments.
- Provides prior authorization support including but not limited to health history entry, documentation submission, status monitoring, and appeal coordination.
- Communicates prescription statuses to patients and providers.
- Connects patients with financial support programs such as manufacturer copay assistance and charitable funds.
- Connects patients with additional resources as needed to overcome social determinants of health.
- Effectively navigates across application tools, electronic medical records, and email to document patient communication, statuses, and outstanding needs centered on coordinating and completing patient support activities.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
- Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
- Pharmacy technician duties within Ardon Health as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
