Assistant Staff Analyst – Job Description
Hourly Rate: $40.75

Contract position through October 31, 2025
The following provides a general description of duties and a more specific description of requirements for the Assistant Staff Analyst. Please note that the summary of responsibilities and required abilities identified below are not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
Responsibilities
- Organize an invoicing receipt, tracking, and adjudication program for invoices, for written deliverables, and for other submitted deliverables from SAPC-contracted harm reduction provider agencies. Review invoices for complements and alignment with approved budget summaries and narratives.
- Collaborate with contracted providers agencies alongside relevant SAPC staff to support contract development, contract execution, and contract modification. Provide technical assistance under supervision to contracted provider agencies with producing budgets, narratives, and invoices for harm reduction projects.
- Prepare letters, memos, reports, tables, and charts using designated technology for SAPC leadership, including tracing contracted allocations, harm reduction services and supplies metrics. Reviewing material submitted to the Associate Medical Director of Prevention for completeness.
- Support HRU staff with logistical planning related to conferences, meetings, training sessions, and other scheduled events including the biannual community engagement session on harm reduction efforts in LA County.
- Document unit policies and procedures at the direction of supervisor, including collecting information about and preparing written descriptions of existing unit processes.
- Assist with the preparation of reports for designated funders and related agencies, including gathering local and national harm reduction data, contacting other agencies/departments for additional information. Collect information related to community conditions, programs, services, and/or concepts either directly or indirectly impacting the harm reduction in LA County.
- Complete other duties and performance expectations as needed in accordance with Bureau needs, class specifications, or County Work Plan.
