TITLE: Clinical Application Analyst (Epic) I, II, Sr
JOB OVERVIEW: The Clinical Application Analyst (Epic) I role will troubleshoot, document, and resolve IT application issues in a timely manner with guidance. The Clinical Application Analyst (Epic) II will demonstrate competence in analysis and troubleshooting, healthcare computing environments and be a self-directed learner with excellent communication skills. The Clinical Application Analyst (Epic) Analyst Sr will demonstrate mastery in analysis and troubleshooting, healthcare computing environments and be a self-directed learner with excellent communication skills.

PREREQUISITES:
Level I:
- Bachelor's degree plus one (1) year industry related experience, OR Associates degree and two (2) years related experience, OR three (3) years related experience.
- Applied Job Experience: Information Services Background: Industry experience preferred as an information technology analyst or Clinical Background: Clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting. Clinical or Health & Life Science education/degree/licensure (RN, RRT, RPH) is a plus or Healthcare Operations Background: Experience in healthcare operations, such as billing, scheduling, access services, health information management or other support functions. Knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling, billing procedures, coding and patient flow is a plus.
- Certifications: Any certifications related to software applications, technology infrastructure and/or clinical specializations is an advantage. Previous Epic certification preferred. Must be able to obtain applicable Epic certification and complete all required application course work within six months of hire date.
Level II:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years industry related experience, OR Associates degree and four (4) years related experience, OR five (5) years related experience.
- Applied Job Experience: Information Services Background: Industry experience preferred as an information technology analyst. Some Small Project lead experience required, or Clinical Background: Clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting. Clinical or Health & Life Science education/degree/licensure (RN, RRT, RPH) is a plus. Lead experience preferred, or Healthcare Operations Background: Experience in healthcare operations, such as billing, scheduling, access services, health information management or other support functions. Knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling, billing procedures, coding and patient flow is a plus.
- Certifications: Any certifications related to software applications, technology infrastructure and/or clinical specializations is an advantage. Current Epic proficiencies or certification required.
Level Sr:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 (five) years industry related experience, OR Associates degree and eight (8) years related experience, OR ten (10) years related experience.
- Applied Job Experience: Information Services Background: Industry experience preferred as an information technology analyst. Mastery of Complex/Multiple Resources Small Project lead experience required or Clinical Background: Clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting. Clinical or Health & Life Science education/degree/licensure (RN, RRT, RPH) is a plus. Lead experience required. Or Healthcare Operations Background: Experience in healthcare operations, such as billing, scheduling, access services, health information management or other support functions. Knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling, billing procedures, coding and patient flow is a plus. Lead experience required.
- Certifications: Any certifications related to software applications, technology infrastructure and/or clinical specializations is an advantage. Current Epic certification(s) are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
- Demonstrated competence in analysis and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare computing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, learn quickly with strong attention to detail.
- Proven record of excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office plus Microsoft Visio proficiency is required.
UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires the ability to move PC's and printers weighing up to 40 lbs.

- Maintains the security of the Data Center(s) systems and information, per VMC and departmental Information Privacy Policies.
- Provides after-hours support as required.
- Ability to successfully log into enterprise network and all supported applications.
- Ability to organize, schedule, manage (chair) meetings and publish meeting minutes.
- Ability to successfully contact vendor for support.
- Ability to complete annual VMC educational requirements.
- Performs other related duties as required.
