Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing PACU Department. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital, Magnet Designated, and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Our state-of-the-art 19 bay PACU has an average of 55-80 cases daily, featuring the most advanced technology in the areas of Transplants, Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, and General surgery cases. Patients receive care from a team of top medical professionals in their field!

Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
What You'll Do
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Work with colleagues and the community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and show community service commitment.
What Will Make You Successful In The Role
- A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.
- Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Program.
- Specialized field of study should be nursing.
- A current and valid nursing license.
- Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.
- 1 Year of RN experience required.
- Highly prefer 2 or more years of RN experience.
