RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assessment and evaluation of clinical services, providing consultation services to the facilities in areas of resident care, infection control, quality ratings, state and federal surveys, regulatory compliance, human resource management, and clinical services.
- Drive clinical outcomes, mentor staff, implement policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations and nurse practice acts in assigned area of service.
- Implement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance. Assist with policy development and review.
- Provide multi-facility-focused, constructive consultation based on objective information and observation. Assess and evaluate the service and care provided. Identify opportunities for improvement and make sound recommendations based on state regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with facility and regional leadership to develop plans for improvement. Communicate status and subsequent progress.
- Follow up on new initiatives, work plans, and appropriately assess progress from previous visits. Communicate progress to facility, regional, and corporate team members.
- Provide on-going clinical evaluation of the timely and accurate completion of all tracking reports.
- Assist facilities with medication assistance/administration and pharmacy utilization trends. Ensure appropriate training/competency training of employees involved in medication assistance per state regulations and Company standards.
- Assist with the review & investigation of medication errors and controlled substance discrepancies and/or diversions.
- Contribute to ongoing development and training of nursing personnel and ancillary staff, as requested by supervisor. May assist or directly train direct care staff on issues related to quality care, clinical and technical skills and services, and operations.
- Act as Interim DNS as needed for vacancies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- RN license in Massachusetts with ability to obtain New Hampshire license.
- Flexibility to travel (North Shore, North Reading, Lawrence, and New Hampshire).
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Previous clinical leadership experience.
