RMH is dedicated to serving the rural areas of Fresno County. We help people recognize their strengths and abilities to successfully regain independence and self-sufficiency in the community. We focus on recovery, resiliency, and wellness of the individual, with a “whatever it takes” approach. We run 8 outpatient mental health clinics serving adults with severe mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, and those with a mental health diagnosis.

BASE PAY:
- Monolingual: Class 150 ($25.28 - $33.27/hour)
- Bilingual: Class 155 ($26.57 - $34.96/hour)
STATUS: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse reports to the Program Director and LVN/LPT Supervisor and provides licensed nursing support services to patients and clients in outpatient programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer medications to patients, chart appropriate records, and coordinate with pharmacy as needed.
- Order supplies and maintain inventory.
- Assist with medical treatments and procedures and assume responsibility for general patient care.
- Transport patients to appointments and laboratories for tests.
- Conduct individual counseling, crisis intervention, and pre-care coverage.
- Participate in treatment programs for patients.
- Observe patient’s physical condition and behavior; report significant changes.
- Maintain a variety of records and prepare reports.
- Participate in in-service training programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Nurse Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician in California.
- Knowledge of mental illness and mental health needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English; Spanish preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a dependable means of transportation.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
- Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients and provide language translations.
- Minimal adequate competency in Spanish as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test.
