Job Summary and Qualifications
The Labor & Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The L&D RN will treat expecting mothers providing support before, during, and after labor.
In this role, you will:
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs.
- Carry out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, monitor vital signs, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Current Advanced Fetal Monitoring, or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- One year of experience in Labor and Delivery required.
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
