ResponsibilitiesCentral Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and ECT services for adults. Position Summary
Responsible for being able to perform all aspects of Central Florida Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Requests clinical information on potential patients;
- Initiates verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission;
- Coordinates admissions with all necessary unit staff and Physician;
- Follows EMTALA regulations and identifies high-risk individuals presenting for emergency care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing;
- One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse;
- (6) months in psychiatric nursing (preferred);
- Knowledge of current nursing procedures;
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida;
- Current CPR Certification required.
