Job Summary
This position is located in the Division of Medical Services, Inpatient and Specialty Services, Audiology Section of the Whiteriver Service Unit located in Whiteriver, AZ. Serves as an Audiologist with responsibility for providing services and oversight of the Audiology care provided at the Whiteriver Service Unit. The incumbent will perform professional work requiring advanced knowledge and application of concepts of Audiology and integration with other medical and therapeutic services.
Major Duties
- Performs a wide range of advanced audiologic services across all patient age ranges from neonatal to geriatric to ascertain the type and degree of hearing loss, including specialized diagnostic measures such as Auditory Brainstem Response testing. Provides advanced quality audiologic evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages, and to school-aged children in local schools, with a wide variety of diagnostic conditions requiring audiologic services. Performs comprehensive hearing aid evaluations, selection, and fitting of appropriate hearing aids and assistive listening devices based on the type and degree of hearing loss. Coordinate the Audiology program with other service unit departments, and coordinate and integrate services with the Department of Preventive Medicine to assure community outreach. Provide expert professional consultation to department personnel, medical staff within Whiteriver Service Unit, public schools, and the community in general on Audiology services and patient-related problems.
Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment examination.
- Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
- Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
- The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
- Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
