Pharmacy Manager at Monroe Regional Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy
Job Summary:
Monroe Regional Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Manager to join our healthcare team. The Pharmacy Manager will manage all facets of the Outpatient Pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise all on-site pharmacists and support staff including recruitment, supervision, discipline, and daily activities.
- Ensure all pharmacy personnel are properly licensed by the State of MS to handle and dispense drugs and that all laws governing the purchase, handling, storage, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals are strictly enforced.
- Establish and provide billing services to ensure MRH receives the maximum reimbursement for the services and supplies provided by the pharmacy. This includes adjudicated billings of all third-party insurers and electronic submissions for Medicaid and Medicare Services.
- According to MRH policies, purchase high quality pharmaceuticals and supplies at the most economical prices and quantities utilizing the 340B Drug Pricing Program and supervise pharmacy ordering and monetary controls, including supplies.
- Develop and maintain a Pharmacy Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Maintain all data, records, files, and information as required by MRH, federal and state law, and other licensing entities.
- Provide accurate and timely reports, including but not limited to daily drug and prescription utilization, weekly and monthly prescription logs, and daily or weekly controlled substances log.
- Cooperate with other management functions and participate in the management operation of MRH as required.
- Assure that all pharmacy operations and activities, including licensure, are in accordance with the directives of MRH and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Maintain professional licenses through continuing education.
- Supervise pharmacy patient assistance program and mailing prescription services.
- Review prescriptions and prepare medications for dispensing.
- Monitor and verify patient medication regimens as necessary.
- Counsel pharmacy patients on medication drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Monitor and report all inventory levels and order points.
- Monitor, report, and remove outdated pharmaceuticals as required.
- Maintain established procedures of quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and HIPAA.
- Access computer for data entry, pharmacy files, patient charts, and inventory.
- Dispense medications accurately and provide counseling on medication usage.
Experience:
- Strong background in pharmacy practice with experience in a retail setting.
- Strong knowledge of 340B drug pricing programs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D. preferred.
- Licensure as MS Registered Pharmacist.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications but is negotiable.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
