Location: Geneva, NY (Finger Lakes Region of New York State)
Contract
Full-Time - 36 Hours.
3 Days Per Week
12 Hours Per Day
Shifts: 7am - 7pm
Rotational: D/E/N/W/Holidays

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient's episode.
Job Functions:
- Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
- Assesses patient/family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data or information obtained through direct observation/assessment, technology, or health team communication. Creates a developmentally and age appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care to address the nature and scope of the health problems identified. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, sets goals and monitors the patient's progress.
- Promotes, advocates for and protects the health, safety and rights of the patient. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to accomplish the best possible patient outcome.
- Teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks and interventions consistent with the individual's education, training, and scope of practice.
- Motivates the patient/family by teaching them what is needed to continue care/healing at home. Assesses the patient/family learning styles and structures the sessions to maximize understanding. Documents the education provided and the patient/family response to the education.
- Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of Nursing Practice and uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing practice and care delivery.
- Nursing practice reflects the importance of making a meaningful connection with patient/family.
- Demonstrates skill in application of interventions including medication administration.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
Qualifications
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
