SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position will support the General Surgery service line in the hospital setting for 1st assist in OR, floor and ER consult, admission/discharges, rounding, bedside procedures, respond to Level One Trauma alerts as support, and on call coverage. Will also support other surgery services in 1st Assist in OR. The locations include PSH Holy Spirit and Hampden Medical Center. It is 100% inpatient and includes rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
This position is supervised by attending surgeons and will assess patients and collaborate with attending on decisions regarding the plan of care. This position is essential to the support of inpatient care, providing 24/7 timely attention to patient needs and communication with attending surgeons.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
- National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
