Core Responsibilities
The Reviewing Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for reviewing medical examinations and consultation requests, and ensuring quality control (consistency, accuracy, required detail, etc.) of medical ratings and consultations related to Fit for duty medical evaluations, employee/incumbent periodic medical examinations and immunizations, return to duty determinations, independent medical examinations, and fitness for duty for positions with medical standards and physical requirements. The RMO will review and form an opinion of the actual examination findings of various medical examinations and consultations performed by physicians and/or healthcare practitioners. The RMO may designate contracted staff members to serve on a Final Disposition Review Team and will also review field physicians' medical reports upon request.
Qualifications:
- The RMO must have a minimum of 5 years experience related to medical review and/or occupational medicine.
- The RMO shall hold an active, unrestricted license in the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands to provide oversight for Occupational Health and Emergency Missions.
- Board Certified in Occupational Medicine or be eligible for certification by the Board.
- Shall also be licensed to perform U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier, and Coast Guard medical examinations.
- Experience in a government healthcare or occupational medicine setting is preferred.
- Ability to travel when needed; some travel may be required, up to 30%.
About the Role
This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
