Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Residency Core Faculty team in Newport News, Virginia.
In this role:
- Requirements include graduating from an ACGME accredited residency with at least 1 year of ultrasound quality assurance experience.
- Preference is given to ARDMS certification or ABEM Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS).
The Riverside Regional Emergency Medicine Residency Program is a three-year ACGME accredited program with 8 residents in each academic year. The residency leadership team consists of 8 core faculty in addition to the program director. The EM residency is part of a growing GME department that currently includes FM, TY, IM, OB, and Pharmacy residencies. The GME department enjoys the strong support of hospital leadership, as evidenced by generous financial support of a state-of-the-art SIM lab led by an Emergency Medicine physician dedicated to SIM.
The Emergency Medicine (EM) Residency Core Faculty ultrasound lead serves as full-time Core Faculty to the Riverside Emergency Medicine Residency Program and is awarded 0.2 FTE protected time. This position will work closely with the Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship Director to provide training and ensure competency of the Clinical Ultrasound Fellows as they assist with the training of EM residents and medical students. This position will also serve as a GME ultrasound liaison to the ED Director and System-wide Ultrasound Director (also an EM boarded physician).
As an EM Core Faculty member, you will assume specific duties and responsibilities as delegated by the EM Residency Program Director, described below. This faculty position will focus on oversight of resident ultrasound training and Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship Assistant Faculty. All duties require communication and coordination with the EM Program Director and EM Program Manager.

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
