Associate, Investment Banking – Asia/APAC
Role Overview
EF Hutton is expanding their investment banking platform and looking for talented Associates to join the team. The Associate role will work with team members to support new business, transaction execution, and client management efforts, while gaining broad exposure to a variety of transactions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate, Investment Banking - Asia/APAC Division, is a mid-level position based in the US, focusing on the Asia/APAC markets. The primary responsibility is to support senior bankers in executing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, and other corporate finance activities specific to the Asia/APAC region. This role involves conducting financial analyses, preparing marketing materials, managing due diligence processes, and communicating with clients and other stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct financial analyses such as discounted cash flow (DCF) and comparable company analysis (CCA) to evaluate potential transactions.
- Prepare marketing materials such as pitch books, teasers, and offering memorandums tailored for clients and investors.
- Manage due diligence processes by coordinating with legal, accounting, and other advisors to identify and address potential risks and issues.
- Communicate with clients, investors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on transaction progress and address any concerns or questions.
- Support senior bankers in managing the overall deal process, including negotiating terms and conditions with counterparties.
- Partner with senior banking team members to build financial models and prepare presentation materials and other deliverables for clients.
- Lead due diligence sessions for clients involved in transactions.
- Play a key role in supporting origination, evaluating opportunities, and executing deals across a broad scope of assignments.
- Prepare client presentations and final work products tailored to the markets.
- Conduct industry and company research.
- Assist in coordinating information flow and execution with product groups.
- Create marketing materials to support the marketing and distribution of transactions.
- Conduct market and industry research to identify potential clients and market trends.
- Participate in managing relationships with clients, including attending client meetings and providing support to senior team members.
- Assist in the preparation of transaction documents, including term sheets and purchase agreements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute transactions.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required; degrees in Finance, Economics, or a related field are preferred.
Required Licensure: FINRA licenses 63, 86, and 87.
Required Experience, Skills, and/or Knowledge:
- Fluency in Mandarin is required.
- 2-4 years of investment banking experience with a focus on the Asia/APAC markets.
- Strong interest and understanding of financial markets.
- Excellent technology skills with superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Professional maturity and experience to interact with senior bankers.
- Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking and distinguished communication skills.
- Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and modeling techniques.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external clients.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to investment banking.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the Asia region.
WORKPLACE LOCATION
- Our team operates out of our offices on Madison Avenue in New York City. This role requires daily presence in the office as well as at client offices for meetings, events, etc.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client deliverables.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires ability to travel locally by car/public transportation, as well as domestic and international trips involving air travel.
