In order to make sure that this happens on EVERY claim, we need strong managers overseeing the claims process and customer service. Here’s what you would be doing if hired for the position. Strategic Comp is currently searching for a Senior Claims Manager who will be responsible for the oversight and activities of a team of claim professionals. The person hired for this position will be responsible for the day-to-day work and activities of their team. Additionally, the Senior Claims Manager will be responsible for the performance, development and coaching of their staff, including continuous learning and development of their team.
The Senior Claims Manager will primarily work from their home and will be required to attend quarterly claim meetings with an overnight stay.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on fresh, creative approaches on every claim
- Determine on each claim the need for attorneys, surveillance, and nurse case managers, and then assign, direct, and monitor the vendor
- Communicate effectively and develop strong relationships with their team members
- Gain consensus from our insureds regarding claim strategies
- Ensure compliance with required statutes and regulations
Physical Requirements: Sedentary (requires prolonged sitting, continuous use of computer) & Travel (requires some overnight travel)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of diverse experience in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont workers’ compensation claims handling is required
- Minimum of 4 years of claims management experience in New England states is required
- Must have current license to adjust workers' compensation claims in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont
- Solid background in coverage analysis, reserving, claims investigation, and litigation management is required
- Prior work with large or national accounts is required
- Candidate location in New England is required
Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00

Within the range, individual pay takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, experience of the candidate, the role's scope, complexity, and other business and organizational needs.
