Summary:
The Revenue Accounting Manager has a critical role within the organization. This position oversees the accurate and efficient recording, invoicing, and collection of revenue. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, a focus on detail, and the ability to lead a team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Management:
- Manage a team responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting, including contract review, invoicing, and receivables management.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Oversee the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to revenue.
- Team Leadership:
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team of accounting professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Recruit, train, and develop talent to meet the team's evolving needs.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve revenue accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and implement technological solutions to streamline workflows.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial integration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification.
- Big4, public accounting experience.
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including team management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and ASC 606.
- Experience in the utility or renewable industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with PowerOptix or similar energy industry software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to revenue accounting.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hybrid - 3 days in office.
