Job Title: Asset Manager – Hospitality Projects
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified Asset Manager with a background in finance, particularly a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), to oversee and optimize the performance of our hospitality assets. The ideal candidate will ensure all properties within our portfolio are profitable, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. This position plays a critical role in determining the market value of properties, monitoring costs, and advising on strategic investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial and Performance Analysis:
- Prioritize maximum return on investment by performing regular financial analysis, determining market value, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular SWOT analysis to benchmark performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee property budgeting, forecasting, and ensure operational efficiency by comparing actual vs. projected financials.
Asset Maintenance and Operational Efficiency:
- Focus on optimizing maintenance costs while ensuring assets are maintained at the highest standards.
- Collaborate with property managers to establish cost-effective strategies for maintenance and capital expenditure, promoting operational excellence and long-term asset value.
Strategic Planning and Investment Optimization:
- Perform annual strategic reviews, evaluating the expected performance of properties relative to ownership investment.
- Advise ownership on investment strategies to optimize returns, including recommendations on acquisitions, divestments, or property upgrades.
- Monitor and project future market trends to adjust investment strategies as needed.
Risk Management:
- Assess risks and opportunities associated with asset management to mitigate potential financial or operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices across all properties.
Key Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in asset management, preferably in the hospitality or real estate sectors.
- Proven ability to conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and operational benchmarking.
- Strong understanding of hospitality market dynamics and property management strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to advise senior leadership on strategic investment decisions.
- Experience in the East African market is a plus.
