GENERAL DESCRIPTION:This position will maintain commercial and domestic kitchen equipment, heating and air-conditioning equipment, HVAC computer controls, large and small appliances, ice makers, and dispensers. Candidate will also assist in maintenance of electrical and security alarm systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for Wyoming State Hospital patients and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Installs and performs fault analysis, maintenance, and repairs on various types of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems.
- Installs environmental control units and facility support systems needing new installation or replacement systems.
- Supervised installation and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment and maintenance of coolers and blast chillers.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules/verify temperatures and locate and repair refrigeration leaks according to EPA regulations.
- Specifies and designs required plumbing and electrical support infrastructure to include expanded service and electronic/digital controls.
- Regulates and accounts for the use of ozone depleting substances regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
- Investigates feasibility of converting systems to use environmentally responsible refrigerants.
PREFERENCES:Preference may be given to applicants with progressive work experience (typically in HVAC).
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of Code requirements to include: American Society of Heating and Refrigeration Air Conditioning Equipment, National Electric Code, National Plumbing Code, and National Building Code.
- Knowledge of various types of heating systems including steam and hot water converters, infrared and forced air furnaces.
- Knowledge of various air conditioning systems including hermetic, centrifugal, and absorption units.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and digital control systems.
- Knowledge of various types of ventilation systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Substitution:2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in HVAC)
OREducation: Associate's Degree
Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in HVAC)
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to lift and move heavy items (requires twisting, bending, lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to work in various locations (including hot or cold areas) and on multiple surfaces.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined and/or awkward spaces.
NOTES:- FLSA: Non-exempt
- A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
- A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
