Supervisor, Strategic Initiatives Accounting
General Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to supervise the accounting functions and financial reporting for certain Strategic Business Initiatives (SBI) owned by DaVita Inc. SBI’s are independent businesses primarily focused on providing services complimentary to kidney care. This teammate is expected to create and manage a high performing staff, participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, and proactively communicate performance to the Finance and Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise financial reporting and accounting performed by assigned staff. These responsibilities include:
- Review of entity financial statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and other standard financial disclosures.
- Ensure significant trends, transactions and variances are properly disclosed and communicated.
- Supervise general ledger close functions for certain SBI’s such as journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliation, trend analysis, and financial statement research.
- Supervise projects including developing project scope and objectives, risk management, ensuring delivery within time frame, project tracking and documentation, and communication, leadership and other internal teams.
- Utilize general business knowledge to assist operational teammates with non-routine accounting issues and concerns.
- Develop and implement recommendations to accounting and operational management, as well as be responsible for day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions.
- Train, lead and review the work of assigned staff.
- Work as a liaison between staff, various business office management and Field customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Emphasis in Accounting preferred)
- Prior healthcare industry accounting experience preferred
- Prior supervisor/leadership experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with complex general ledger and supporting systems
- Intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills required; ability to develop and deliver presentations; advanced Excel skills required
- Experience in managing teams in fast paced environment
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

Salary/ Wage Range: $62,200.00 - $91,300.00 / year
