Hiring Range:
The full salary range for this position is $83,400 - $155,800. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $95,800 - $105,000.

This position is considered to be 'hybrid' and will be expected to work at a campus site at least two days per week (subject to change with notice).
About the Job:
Reporting to the Director of Administrative Budget and Policy, the Senior Financial Analyst is the lead analyst for assigned Administrative Units and is considered the expert in the area of operating budget, staffing and the allocation of a diverse fund pool. This is a highly analytical position that utilizes advanced level forecasting methodologies and analytical skills to aid leadership in the development of their financial resource plans, budget strategies and distribution of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Budget Management:
Applies advanced professional financial concepts to perform complex technical analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and the consequent resource allocations. - Financial Performance and Analysis:
Responsible for providing analytical support for highly complex budget, financial, and resource projects dealing directly with campus leadership and/or outside constituents. - Financial and Budgetary Data Collection:
Coordinates the gathering of budgetary and resource requirements information during planning stages, such as the annual budget process and fiscal close. - Financial Forecasting, Planning and Policy Recommendations:
Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for complex financial and / or resource plans in Administration units. - Financial Analysis and Research:
Performs complex financial or resource research and studies for internal and external constituents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related area (required); and
- 5 years of progressively responsible related experience or 9 years of full-time equivalent related progressively related experience and education (required); or
- 7 years of directly transferable experience in Finance, Budget, Accounting and Auxiliary financial management in a similar size, scope, and leadership responsibilities (preferred).
Critical Knowledge, Experience, and Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of financial policies, practices and systems, accounting and bookkeeping, budgeting and reporting techniques HR planning and development.
- Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources.
- Advanced ability to effectively present complex finance related information both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- In-depth ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
- Advanced interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization; advanced service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to function as a member of a team.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
