About the Agency
The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities to live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). The mission of MDRS is to provide appropriate and comprehensive services in a timely and effective manner, assisting individuals with disabilities to gain employment, retain employment, and live independently.
Job Responsibilities
This is a time-limited position available in the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services' Finance Division. Responsibilities will involve:
- Entering daily administrative accounts payable transactions.
- Working with vendors and agency employees to resolve payment issues or disputes.
- Compiling and reporting payment information for management, vendors, and other parties.
- Utilizing analytical abilities to identify, resolve, and limit errors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience. Preferred qualifications include:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 1-3 years of experience.
- General working knowledge of computers and equipment used in day-to-day operations.
- Experience with the state of Mississippi's MAGIC accounting system, Microsoft Excel, and Word is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 1-3 years of experience.
