The Accounting Manager will manage the organization’s accounting systems, ensuring accurate records and comprehensive financial documentation. This role involves overseeing financial and accounting processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and federal regulations. You'll also be responsible for preparing timely financial statements for management.
In this role, you will handle daily accounting tasks, financial and management reporting, and conduct in-depth financial analysis.
Additionally, you will oversee payroll processing cycles for OXIO’s global team. A successful candidate will manage OXIO’s accounting calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met efficiently.
You’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, proactively offering insights to the Controller/Head of Finance. As OXIO launches global operations in Q4 of 2024, this role will experience significant growth and opportunities for advancement. The ideal candidate will develop a deep understanding of telecom-specific financial operations and demonstrate a hands-on, adaptable approach to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding environment.
Responsibilities:- Interview, hire, and train accounting staff
- Oversee daily department workflow
- Conduct performance evaluations and handle disciplinary actions per company policy
- Analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with budgets
- Audit expenditures and reconcile accounts
- Monitor spending and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage bi-weekly payroll and ensure accuracy for hires, changes, and deductions
- Oversee US tax provisions and ensure compliance with tax obligations
- Administer the expense reimbursement process and manage the corporate card system
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and support local accounting teams globally
- Manage Accounts Payable for OXIO's US entity
- Assist with global finance and accounting processes as needed
Qualifications:- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles
- 6+ years of accounting experience, with a CPA or equivalent certification
- Advanced degree in Finance or Accounting
- Proficient in Excel (including Lookup, Index Matching, PIVOT tables), Google Sheets, and other Google Suite tools
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience, with a minimum of 1 year required
- In-depth knowledge of financial management, including statutory obligations and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with industry-specific accounting software (e.g., Sage)
- Proven ability in financial management and control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Solid project management capabilities
- Ability to perform well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:- US CPA or CMA certification required
- The Finance Supervisor must continuously maintain the knowledge, technical skills, and qualifications necessary to perform effectively in the role, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements, applicable regulations, and relevant laws
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Xero accounting systems
- Experience using data BI platforms (e.g., Holistics, Sisense, Mosaic) to query and extract data for reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail paired with excellent analytical skills
- Capable of maintaining accurate financial reports and performing timely updates

The compensation range for this position in New York is $160,000 to $178,000.
