We are seeking a skilled Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing, insurance reimbursement, and coding, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Job Purpose: Revenue Cycle Manager
The Clinic Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle process for the clinic. This includes managing the billing and collections team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims, optimizing revenue generation, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or related field; experience in lieu of education may be considered
- Five to seven years of progressive revenue cycle or other medical billing experience
- Strong leadership skills with at least two years in a leadership role
- A proven track record of improving financial performance in a healthcare setting
- Patient services experience strongly preferred
- Coding certification preferred, or willing to obtain within one year of hire
Essential Responsibilities: Revenue Cycle Manager
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Supervise and support the patient services and billing and collections teams, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Revenue Cycle Oversight:
- Manage all aspects of the revenue cycle, from patient registration and insurance verification to billing and collections.
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy of coding and charge capture.
- Oversee claim submissions, payment posting, and denial management processes.
- Financial Performance and Reporting:
- Analyze revenue cycle metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to executive leadership.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue and reduce outstanding accounts receivable.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to billing and collections.
- Stay current with changes in healthcare laws and regulations that impact the revenue cycle.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Patient and Provider Relations:
- Address patient inquiries and resolve billing issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to streamline processes and enhance the patient experience.
- Act as a liaison between the clinic and insurance companies to resolve payment issues.
- Organize and conduct regular meetings with teams to discuss updates, challenges, and improvements.
- Implement and maintain effective communication channels for patient feedback and suggestions.
- Meet with new providers to assist them in understanding and improving their coding and charting practices for appropriate billing.
- Provide continuing guidance and training to providers to ensure compliance with billing and documentation standards.
- Technology and Systems:
- Utilize healthcare information systems (HIS) and electronic health records (EHR) to manage patient data and enhance service delivery.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained in the use of relevant technology and software.
- Identify and implement technological solutions to improve patient services and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as applicable to area(s) of responsibility.
- Handle confidential information and materials appropriately and maintain a secure work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
