The International Income Tax Consultant prepares international tax planning documents and presentations, researches tax issues, responds to client requests, prepares transfer pricing reports, certain international tax compliance, and other special tax projects. This includes researching tax law, documenting planning ideas, and completing detailed models and calculations. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to many different areas of international tax and gain experience in both compliance and consulting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
People:
- Create a positive team experience.
Client:
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
- Correspond with clients to meet deliverables.
- Travel to client locations to gather documentation for compliance and consulting services.
- Assist Manager in preparing client presentations for proposals and planning strategies.
Value:
- Prepare detailed models and spreadsheets for tax planning.
- Assist in developing project workplans and scheduling deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of international returns and compliance projects.
- Understand the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations for various tax issues; training provided.
- Conduct research and technical writing to support tax positions.
- Prepare memorandums and documentation for management's review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and two years of ASC 740 tax accounting and provision experience. Must have excellent organization and time management skills, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
Computer Skills:
Beginner's knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Limited supervisory responsibilities, including training peers and checking work for accuracy.
Work Environment:
Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at a computer. Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and clients via e-mail and telephone. Independent travel requirement: Up to 10-20%.
Compensation Disclosure:
The Company makes offers based on qualifications and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation. For candidates in New York, NY, the base salary hiring range is $74,800 - $93,500.
