This role would start directly with our partner firm as they continue to grow their revenue and headcount. This team is focused on helping their people learn and challenge themselves as much as they choose to in order to help the overall success of the groups around them. The company recently opened a new role as a Bilingual Billing Consultant (Payroll Experience would be a plus), which will work very closely with employees in the Puerto Rico region.
Job Overview: Accounting Associate
Our partner firm is seeking a Bilingual Billing Consultant (Spanish Speaking) who is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, payroll and invoice work for their team in the Puerto Rico region.
Responsibilities:
- Process billing function, which includes preparation and submission of invoices to customers and/or entry into customer applications.
- Is familiar with the details of utility contracts that relate to billing and assure customer billing conforms to the provisions of the contract. Ensures accuracy of billing.
- Assist customers as needed (billing, balancing, questions, customer website entry).
- Assist other payroll department team members during vacations, and work overloads as needed.
- Assist field employees and operations as needed.
- Review approved employment forms to determine: names, rates of pay, bargaining unit status, hours, termination, leaves of absence, and other necessary information regarding payment of wages.
- Prepare and input payroll data-specific information as well as vacations, wage assignments/garnishments, and voluntary deductions; investigating questionable entries as necessary.
- Process and prepare payroll checks for distribution to appropriate parties.
- Update employee records with amended information (ex: vacation, hours, address changes, etc.) Maintain personnel files for employees and payroll and billing records.
- Handle various payroll adjustments (shortages, garnishments, manual computation of gross and net pay, vacation pay, bonuses, incentives, etc.) after verifying with the appropriate supervisor.
- Prepare periodic payroll-related analyses, production records, and customer-related billing reports.
- Bilingual-Spanish Required.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal departments, including Accounting and Finance leadership.
Documentation:
- Maintain documentation for billing and payroll activities.
- Prepare and update accounting policies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Recent experience in a Billing, Payroll experience would be a plus.
- Strong Excel knowledge required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant financial software and ERP systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while leading a small team.

Location: Des Moines Metro, Hybrid once up to speed
OTE: Hourly pay: ($24 - $27 per hour) plus above average benefits with a healthy retirement plan.
