LG Capital for Culture seeks an experienced and passionate arts fundraising professional based in NYC to join our team as an Associate Consultant. The Associate will report to the Director/Founder. Opportunity for advancement with growing consultancy. Main consultant responsibilities include: fundraising and social media strategy, campaign planning, individual giving and event management.
LG Capital for Culture is a full-service consulting firm specializing in fundraising and communications across the cultural, nonprofit, and academic sectors in NYC and the Greater Metro-NYC and DC communities. LG Cap prioritizes partnering with culturally specific, accessible, and social-justice driven nonprofit cultural organizations and arts leaders to help establish a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive working environment in the nonprofit sector.
Founded in 2014 by Lauren Gibbs, LG Cap consists of a nimble, multi-disciplinary team of consultants working seamlessly to meet the needs of each individual client by providing a wide array of consulting services. Work remotely with weekly meetings on phone and Zoom. Required in-person exceptions include: onsite special event work and occasional meetings.
Responsibilities may include the following based on client need:
Fundraising & Communications Administration:
- Support fundraising and communication activities, including strategic, development and social plans and campaigns, feasibility studies, budget creation and analysis, etc;
- Understand clients' missions and write in their voice;
- Develop and manage fundraising and social calendars;
- Compile relevant statistics and reports;
- Collaborate with current Associate Consultant to manage weekly tasks;
- Assist clients with administrative tasks as needed.
Events:
- Create and oversee event strategies and timelines for cultivation and fundraising;
- Conduct venue, decor and vendor outreach;
- Manage event logistics and vendor relationships, acknowledgments and reconciliation;
- Write event invitations, updates, and run-of-show materials;
- Serve as onsite event coordinator or stage manager.
Individual Giving & Social:
- Develop strategies and copy for annual fund appeals and related social media campaigns, including direct mail and digital outreach;
- Research and identify major donor prospects;
- Assist in creation of patron programs, perks and stewardship strategy;
- Create compelling solicitation materials;
- Oversee donor acknowledgment protocols.
Board:
- Assist with new Board member cultivation and recruitment;
- Develop Board communication enhancement strategies for leadership;
- Support Board retreats and meetings.
Company Administration:
- Provide support for client and internal meetings, including invitations and agendas; take and distribute notes;
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
Application Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Arts Administration, Performing Arts, or English);
- 7+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience in event planning, individual giving and major gifts, particularly in the arts;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, including mail merge;
- Familiarity with CRM research tools and donor management software;
- Passion for the nonprofit arts;
- Strong writing, organizational, and creative skills;
- Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines independently;
- Collaborative and open to feedback, with excellent strategy and analysis abilities.
