What you will be doing:
Join us at the Sitka Public Health Clinic. As a Public Health Nurse (PHN 2), you will have the opportunity to work in diverse settings, including clinics, homes, schools, and community environments. Your role will encompass a wide range of public health nursing services, such as:
- Conducting community health assessments and improvement processes
- Performing health screenings and providing preventative services
- Engaging in infectious and communicable disease surveillance, treatment, case management, and prevention
- Participating in emergency preparedness activities
In this position, you will independently deliver comprehensive services to individuals, families, communities, and systems, making a significant impact on public health outcomes.

Sharp Program Eligibility:
The successful candidate may be eligible for a $60,000 incentive award through the Alaska SHARP 2 program. If selected, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of Alaska, agreeing to live and work in Sitka for a period of three years. SHARP participants can choose quarterly student loan repayments or direct payments for the duration of the contract in addition to their base salary. Most applicants who apply are eligible.

This position is located in Sitka, Alaska, a beautiful island community that sits in the panhandle of Southeast Alaska, 90 minutes by air from Seattle.

Special Note:
- A valid Alaska Registered Nursing License is required.
- A valid Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
- CPR Certification will be required while in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Special Notes:
Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska, may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of RN licensure will be required prior to appointment.
