Position Overview
Under limited supervision, performs Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in ensuring that the site NDA function operates in a manner that is safe, cost effective and fully compliant with Quality System for Non-Destructive Assay (QSNDA) requirements, FBP Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and procedures and all regulatory requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Provides consulting to NDA Management on NDA technical matters
- Assignments are either assigned or self-initiated
- Makes significant contributions to the development, implementation, and maintenance of Non-Destructive Assay programs and procedures, including but not limited to personnel development and qualification, measurement control, and performance tracking
- Conducts investigations and prepares reports to project management
- Provides technical expertise to other functions across the organization
- May serve as team lead on medium to large projects
- Provides technical and/or functional support to the Non-Destructive Assay team
- Performs duties complex in nature
- Other job related duties as assigned
- Maintains knowledge, attends continuing training, and demonstrates the ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
- Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Working Conditions
Primary work environment will be office. Limited work may be required in a D&D environment (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or demolition industrial field environments). Potential exposure to heavy industrial equipment movement, demolition hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (the appropriate respiratory protection and other protective equipment) to enter various types of potentially hazardous areas (such as but not limited to radiological, chemical, dust fumes, mists, heat stress factors, etc.).
Potential for prolonged driving of or riding in a motor vehicle, machine operation, and/or working around moving equipment/machinery or motorized vehicles (such as but not limited to car, truck, golf cart, gator, scissor lifts, man-lift, heavy industrial equipment).
Ability to work in confined areas, tanks, heat stress conditions, high noise areas and areas with radiation and chemical hazards.
Environmental conditions may include weather or temperature extremes, inclement weather (such as but not limited to wind, rain, excessive heat, excessive cold, snow/ice, etc.)
In some cases radiological training may be required.
May be required to operate company vehicle during the course of work. All safety and DOT regulations and procedures must be adhered to at all times.

Required Experience
Minimum Requirements
Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) Principal I
BS degree in physical science or engineering with required NDA experience of 5 years; or 10 equivalent years in the NDA field.
Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) Principal II
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in physics, chemistry, or nuclear engineering with 5 years NDA experience required; or 15 equivalent years of experience in the NDA program.
Qualifications:
