Job Overview:
As a Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. Our Telemetry Unit is a 38-Bed Unit. The team-oriented unit provides a wide variety of medical/surgical and diagnostic services to a diverse cardiac population, which includes congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory compromise, and dysrhythmias. The skills learned here set the groundwork for advancement to critical care.
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift, 40 Hours per week [7:00AM – 7:30PM]
- Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required
- ASN or BSN required
- AHA BLS prior to start date required
- Minimum one (1) year sub-acute or acute care experience required
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification is required within one (1) year of employment
Essential Functions:
The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives, and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements, and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
