RN - Emergency Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency is responsible for providing direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The RN-Emergency will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, as well as coordinate the care provided by other members of the healthcare team. The RN-Emergency will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
- AHA ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a critical care setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate the care provided by other members of the healthcare team
- Educate patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan
- Administer medications and treatments
- Monitor patient vital signs and laboratory results
- Document patient care in the medical record
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, pharmacists, and social workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
