This position has 24-hour accountability for their area of responsibility. This accountability encompasses: patient care outcomes, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement compliance, and communication. Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position
- Registered Nurse
- 2-3 years experience Clinical in Nursing clinical nursing in the specialty or related area to be managed
- 2-3 years experience Progressive Leadership
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial: Assists the management team in meeting department targets with regard to Unit of Service (UOS). Follows designated staffing guidelines. Appropriately utilizes and supports supplemental staff.
- Is supportive of all management and SLC decisions demonstrated through adherence to policies and procedures and on-going communication with unit employees. Participates in SLC, unit committee, and TriHealth committees.
- Lead development of Nursing Home and Physician newsletters and clinically-related brochures, education materials and collaterals.
- Leadership: Participates in the development of staff and encourages learning opportunities. Participates in competency programs as an instructor or superuser. Is a mentor to less experienced employees.
- Nursing Process: Provides quality patient care through effective utilization of policies and procedures and the nursing process. Is proficient in critical thinking, assessment and technical skills. Collaborates with the patient, family and the interdisciplinary team.
- Patient Care Coordination: Coordinates patient care through appropriate allocation of resources to facilitate a timely patient placement process both IN and OUT of the department. Works directly with each RN throughout the shift, offers assistance, guidance, and support.
- Provides feedback to evaluate performance of personnel. Provides input for progressive discipline on a fair and consistent basis.
