The group has 3 Psychiatrists, 2 APP's, 4 therapists and 3 Neurologists. Each provider has a private office and their own individual MA. Considerable provider support is made available. This is to facilitate excellent patient care and minimize having to address cumbersome regulatory requirements.
This department is a teaching program. Medical, physician assistant, nurse practitioner students and social worker intern's rotate through the department monthly. The ability to teach is available.
PRACTICE DETAILS:
The position calls for a General Psychiatrist to work in the Outpatient setting.
16-bed Geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit at the hospital, robust Consultation Liaison service in the hospital and medical education.
4 or 5-day workweek comprised of 40 hours/week.
New patient appointments are 1 hour and follow-up med checks are 20 minutes in general.
Anticipated patient load would be 18-20 patients per day.
Weekday call is currently covered (none)
Weekend call will be 1:5 - rounding on the inpatient geropsychiatry unit and seeing psychiatry consults in the Medical Center. The average daily census of the geropsychiatry unit is 9-10 patients.
During the week, 1/2-day will involve doing psychiatric consults on the medical floors at the Medical Center. During this time, no outpatients are scheduled.
Suboxone certification is preferred but not required.
There is a robust multidisciplinary opioid narcotic recovery program using medically assisted treatment. Conceivably, 1/2-day out of the week could be spent treating this population.
